Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated

You can cancel a subscription at any time, and you won’t be charged again. This page explains what canceling does, the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU, EEA and UK, and when we give money back.

Canceling a subscription

  • Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account page, or by emailing support@theautocap.cc from the address on your account.
  • Canceling stops the next renewal, so you won’t be charged again. It is not a refund: you keep full access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • After that, your account moves to the Free plan. Your projects and transcripts stay where they are.
  • One-time purchases never renew, so they don’t need canceling.

Your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU, EEA and UK)

If you’re a consumer living in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the law gives you the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day you buy. How it works depends on what you bought.

Plans (a digital service)

A plan starts as soon as you buy it, at your request. You can still withdraw within the 14 days. If you do, we refund your payment minus an amount proportionate to the service you received up to the moment you told us you were withdrawing — a pro rata deduction based on the plan’s price. If you didn’t expressly ask for the plan to start during the 14 days, we refund the full amount.

The right ends early only if the service has been fully provided within the 14 days, after you expressly agreed at checkout that it would start straight away and acknowledged that you would lose the right once it was fully provided.

Digital content supplied straight away

Some purchases are delivered in full immediately — like the one-time watermark removal, which is supplied when you make your watermark-free export. For these, you lose the right of withdrawal once supply has started if, at checkout, you expressly agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal, and we confirmed this to you, for example in your receipt email. If any of that didn’t happen, you can still withdraw within the 14 days.

How to withdraw

Tell us clearly that you’re withdrawing: email support@theautocap.cc from the address on your account. You can use the wording below, but you don’t have to. To meet the deadline, send your message before the 14 days are up.

To AKASH ASHOKBHAI MANGUKIYA, Satellite Road, Mota Varacha, Surat 394101, Gujarat, India, support@theautocap.cc: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service or digital content: [plan or item]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [your name]. Account email: [email address]. Date: [today’s date].

We’ll refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method you used unless you agree otherwise. You won’t pay any fees for the refund.

The one-time watermark removal

  • Remove watermark is a one-time purchase ($5 or €5, shown in your currency at checkout). It removes the watermark from one video, and you can re-export that video for 24 hours to fix a caption.
  • It can be bought once per account, includes no transcription minutes, and never renews.
  • Once you’ve made the watermark-free export, it has been fully supplied, so it isn’t refunded — unless the export didn’t work (see below) or you still have a right of withdrawal as described above.

When we give money back

Duplicate charges

If a payment is taken twice for the same purchase, we return the duplicate in full.

When the service doesn’t work

  • If a transcription fails but still uses your minutes, we restore the minutes so you can run it again.
  • If the service is unavailable for a significant part of a paid period, we extend that period by the time lost — or, if you prefer, refund that part of the period.
  • If a paid feature doesn’t work and we can’t fix it within a reasonable time, we refund the purchase, or the part of it that was affected.

Your legal rights

Consumers also have legal rights when digital content or a digital service is faulty or not as described — in the EU, EEA and UK, for example, to have it fixed, or to get a price reduction or a refund. This policy doesn’t limit those rights.

Everything else

Outside these cases and your legal rights, we don’t refund a billing period that has already started, including when you cancel partway through it. You keep access until the period ends.

How to ask for a refund

Email support@theautocap.cc from the address on your account, and include:

  • what you bought, and when;
  • the order or payment reference from your receipt — for a duplicate charge, both references;
  • a short description of what went wrong, or that you’re withdrawing.

Timing

  • We reply to refund requests within 3 business days.
  • Once we approve a refund, we send it to your original payment method within 14 days — for a withdrawal, within 14 days of receiving your notice.
  • Your bank or card issuer may take a few more business days to show the money in your account.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before you dispute a charge with your bank — it’s usually faster, and we’d rather fix the problem. If a chargeback is opened, we may pause paid features on the account until it’s resolved. This doesn’t affect your legal rights.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. The version in effect when you bought something applies to that purchase. See also our Terms of Service.
